Questions about Ukraine?
The Biden administration recently announced that the United States will welcome 100,000 refugees from Ukraine through all available legal pathways. Right now, we do not know what pathways these refugees will take to arrive in the United States or when they will arrive. The administration has indicated it is working closely with the European Union and is finding ways to welcome Ukrainians with family members in the United States as well as some of the most vulnerable refugees fleeing Ukraine. This is an important step for the United States to take to help address the urgent humanitarian crisis this invasion has created.
When Ukrainian refugees arrive in the Indiana, Exodus will be ready to welcome them, just as we welcome people fleeing conflicts all over the world. We hope the administration will continue to support refugee resettlement from all countries, even as it focuses on helping the millions of Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes.
In recent months, Indiana has rallied to help welcome hundreds of Afghan evacuees and has shown that this is a truly welcoming state. As we learn more about how and when refugees from Ukraine will arrive and how we need to prepare, we will share this information so that together, we can prepare to welcome them with open arms.
