#RefugeesWelcome

Dear Friends of Refugees,

On Friday, President Trump signed an Executive Order that delivered a major blow to the refugee resettlement program. It is an unprecedented action in our nation’s long history of welcoming refugees and it goes against everything we stand for as Americans.

I am thankful that none of Exodus’ refugee families were en route during the detainments at the airport this weekend, but also heartbroken for those who were supposed to arrive in the coming weeks. Our staff has some painful calls to make to our clients here in Indianapolis who were expecting to reunite with a wife, sister, or child. It may be years before they see them again.

Despite our heartbreak, we are not giving up. The Order will directly impact our work here at Exodus and will affect the lives of the 1,000+ refugees we have already welcomed since last year. We need your support to ensure refugee families still have access to the vital services and support we provide, including case management, employment, education, and mental wellness support.

Please donate to our urgent campaign on Crowdrise to help us raise $200,000 for refugee services. Choose “Join Our Team” to set up your own fundraising page and invite your family and friends to join you in taking action for refugees! Together, we can show the refugee families who already call Indiana home what real Hoosier hospitality looks like.

With your help, Exodus will not give up on our humanitarian mission of welcoming refugees to Indiana. We will keep raising our voice for refugees and fight back against religious bigotry. Thank you for standing with us. #RefugeesWelcome

Sincerely,

Cole Varga
Executive Director
