Reception and Placement

The primary goal of our resettlement services is to aid our clients in making the difficult transition to life in Indianapolis as smooth as possible. Therefore, it is crucial that a network of resources and support be created to aid the refugee newcomers from their time of arrival so that they can be self sufficient as soon as possible. Exodus’ goal is to provide our clients with the tools and information they need to be successful in their new lives in the Indianapolis. Thus, the first 90 days after arrival are critical to the resettlement process and provide the foundation for the services that follow. Exodus with the aid of our volunteers and donors provide clients with items necessary to meet immediate needs such as housing, food, clothing, furnishings and other household items. Case-management services as well as transportation, interpreters and assistance with connecting to social services benefits, banking, employment and health care are also provided. English language and cultural orientation classes are crucial to aid clients in becoming more familiar with U.S. customs and procedures.
